Currently Reading

You might have noticed that I've added a little box for my current reading selection. I am rally trying hard to read more and would love to write some book reviews for you as well.

Last week I finished reading Redeeming Love by Francine Rivers and I've been trying to write a review for a few days. I am still in awe by amazing this book was and want my review to be every bit as special as Francine's eloquent novel.

Has anyone read Redeeming Love? If so, I'd love to hear what you thought about it. I would love to include your thoughts in my upcoming review.

I'm currently reading Sweetwater Run by Jan Watson and will write a bit about it when I finish.

  1. I've read all of Francine River's books including this one. She just came out with a new book in September too. My favorites are her "women from the bible" series. I think she's a fantastic writer -- one of my favorites!

  2. I wish I had more time to read! I used to be able to spend hours reading....now my kids don't really like it! Can't wait to read your review.

  3. I did read that awesome book, however it has been over a year ago. So I read a quick synopsis to renew my memory. I so remember crying when left Michael and at how broken she was but amazed how she turned her life around. I have read many of her books and each has a touching story of sin and redemption. I really enjoyed the Atonement Child.

  4. I LOVE that book...it was the first Francine book I read & is still a favorite. One of my all-time favorite books though is And the Shofar Blew...she really gives a good example of things a lot of churches go through that we tend to shy away from talking about. You should definitely check it out :)

  6. That is my absolute favorite book, The first time I read it, I turned around and re-read it maybe a week later. And I am not the type of person to re-read books.

  7. My favorite book of ALL time!
I made my husband read it, too, and he agreed. There are SO many lessons in this story, but my favorite is getting a glimpse of God's love for us..... He won't give up.

I'm reading The Last Sin Eater by Rivers, right now.

  8. I've read it. I've never been able to adequately articulate my thoughts on it except that I think everyone should read it not because it is the most well-written book I've ever read but because there is so much hope in it.

  9. I love "Redeeming Love" - it is definitely one of my favorite books of all time. You are in a great place to share this book because you are involved in the lives of college students. When I was in college, I recommended this book to the girls in our college womens ministry and it really changed so many lives. These women previously had no understanding of how God has pursued them throughout their lives and loves them so intimately. I'm glad you liked it!

  10. Redeeming Love is my favorite book. MY FAVORITE. It's amazing. I'm smiling now just thinking about it. Everyone I know who's read it has done it in 3 days. NEXT, you should read the Mark of the Lion series by Rivers. It's just as good as Redeeming Love. There are three books in the series. I know a girl who finished the first book and actually went to the bookstore to buy the second right away because she couldn't wait. It's that good.

  11. I love this book! I read it the first time as a teenager and while I did not remember that much about it I never forgot how wonderful it was. A couple years ago I picked up another copy and reread it. I fell in love all over again. I gave a copy to my mom before she got remarried and made her read it.
There are so many important messages in this book that it is hard to chose one simple thing that makes it great.

  12. A-MAZE-ING book! I need to re-read it but I remember not being able to put it down when I did read it. My cousin (a male) recommended that I read it. He told me, he didn't judge a book by its cover but discovered the awesome author that Francine Rivers is by reading lots of her great stories! And the Shofar blew is another great one!
