Senior year of high school and my first couple years of college, my style was defined by my chuck taylor all stars. Later on in college, however, I thought I needed to grow up. I traded in my chucks for more "mature" shoes.
This weekend Kyle and I went shoes shopping in search of a new pair of tennis shoes each. Well, I went back to my roots.
It feels good to be back.
I'd know that Buckeye anywhere! Did you go to OSU, or just happen to have your picture taken w/Brutus? I grew up in Columbus & had a lot of friends go there. :)
ReplyDeleteI was just thinking of my old high school shoes recently too. I am older than you and you probably don't know what I am talking about but I had some high tops that zippered and I could change the shoe top. I think they were Swatch brand? Can't rememeber but I loved those shoes! My 12 yo daughter bought some from Justice that reminded me of them & I was wishing I at least had a picture of myself wearing them so I could show her. Glad you got some old school friends back in your life- ahh, nostalgia!
ReplyDeleteGO BUCKS!!
ReplyDeleteand Im still wearing Chucks too =)
i'm all about the vans. i wore them in highschool, and college, and i rock them to this day. i keep buying the same pair, too, blue with a white stripe. i buy the boy's version b/c they are cheaper and i fit into them. i'm glad you are rockin' the chucks. there's no need to give them up!
ReplyDeleteLove them. Except when I wore them they were just called "Converse"!
ReplyDeleteYoua re so inspiring!! I always wore chucks when I was younger too, but stopped because after I turned 25 my (now ex)husband told me I was too old to wear them. Perhaps I need to go back to my roots too...hell I may get myself some chucks and put a few embellishments on them...because I can and 33 is SO not too old for chucks. Right?!
ReplyDeleteI was a Converse One Star girl myself, but you can't go wrong with Chucks!
ReplyDeleteI'm just going to add go bucks as well! Way to represent Ohio! :)
ReplyDeleteAlthough, we'll just let this weekend slide and not talk about it since they lost..
Love your runners...I have a few pair of those myself...a classic black pair and a white pair.
ReplyDeleteI adore your sweet pup that is in the image! xoxo
Oh man...Buckeyes? Haha...I'm a WI Badger! Thanks for visiting my blog!
ReplyDeleteLaura,
ReplyDeleteDo you live in Columbus? I work at Ohio State (went to school there too). Just curious.
Lisa
Thank you! I had a pair of chucks in high school and LOVED them. Not sure why I never had another pair, but lately I've been contemplating buying some. Your post may be just the kick in the pants I need to actually do it.
ReplyDeleteOh, and regardless of what happened this weekend, Go Bucks! :)
I love my chuck taylors! Check this out! http://capcreations.blogspot.com/2010/01/family-of-all-stars.html
ReplyDeleteso funny that i just found your blog and this post... I will be turning, ahem , 30 next month and I am hoping beyond hope that my hubby comes through and gets me the converse low-tops I'm asking for. i had some in high school that were "me". all my friends had written on the white parts. i loved them, but like you, in college i decided i needed to grow up. now I want to grow back down. i was happy then, why did i think i needed to change. glad you got your roots back. i'll be joining you soon :)
