Worth 1000 Words

1/1/14: Happy New Year! Kyle and I barely made it to 11pm on new year's eve. This is not a parent's holiday. We headed to the mall on New Years, complete with carousel ride. Kyle made us the most delicious pork and sauerkraut for dinner.

1/2/14: I've had this calendar on my desk since I started in November. I love new calendars for a new year. My Erin Condren life planner is in the mail as we speak!

1/3/14: We continued the week of amazing pork dinners with carnitas! One of the best meals I've ever had. Also, this was the day I feel in love with salsa verde.

1/4/14: Please pray for our little guy. He has been sick so much since I started working again. This weekend we made our first trip to the ER. After being great all day, he woke up from his nap with a 104.8 fever. I slept in his room all night on medicine duty. By 11pm it was up to 105.

1/5/14: We spent the rainy day in our jammies. Sam felt a little better. He didn't want to drink anything and didn't have many wet diapers. Headed to the doctor today.

I've love to know: what have you been up to, friends?

  1. Oh momma, I can so relate to the sickness all.the.time. IT's heart-breaking and guilt-inducing as a mom. I was a fixture at our pediatrician last year. The number of fevers and ear aches and prescriptions he had makes me thankful for insurance.

But, I'll tell you what. We had our first ER visit on Christmas Day. 2 months after I stopped working. I hoped that the sickness would go away with me staying home and I had another thing coming.

    Anyhoo, hope he's feeling better!

    1. I'm so grateful for an understanding supervisor because I've had to stay home with Sam so much since I started work in November. So sorry to hear about Henry's trip to the ER. It makes me feel better (and a little less guilty) that sickness happens to all kids (although it's heartbreaking when our little ones don't feel well). Hope you are all feeling better now!

  2. Our little girl Zoe has been sick too. She had an allergic reaction to amoxicillin, wound up in the ER with a swollen face. After losing our second we were much more cautious with Zoe's health problem.

    1. Oh my gosh, I'm so sorry to hear that. And I"m so sorry for your loss! I was nervous when Sam went on antibiotics for the first time. I don't love him being on them, but they sure did help him.
