From someone's trash to my craft desk, I'm so excited to show you how she turned out!
Remember this?
And after lots of sanding, wood filling, priming, and painting...
here she is!
We used Penny Hill (Ace Hardware) for the desk. It is a beige/neutral color that looks a tiny bit pink in the sun. We used Ohio Buckeye (Ace Hardware) for the chair, desk drawers, and inside the top drawer pockets.
I drew a terrible picture for Kyle of what I wanted the top to look like. 20 minutes later and he had it perfect!
We found utensil trays at Ikea for the top holes that used to be drawers. I left them natural but added some wooden letters painted my favorite color (metallic taupe- folk paint line).
I found this ugly guy at Goodwill.
Now it's a memo/inspiration board that will hang above the desk.
I hope you're as impressed as I am. If you were anxiously waiting for the big reveal, I hope I didn't disappoint!
I can't wait to get crafting!
great job! got to feel good about the work you put in and the result!

ReplyDeleteHi!
ReplyDeleteI am meeting you from over at The Girl Creative, New Friend Friday (you were above me). I love the desk and the note board, since I love turning ugly and abandoned things into beautiful and useful ones- for this is what Jesus' love has done for me!
But what I really love is your post about Jesus Who?
I am your sister in Christ (Jesus Christ! LOL!)
I so totally got you in that post!
If I don't spend time daily with my best friend- open the door, visit and eat Pad Thai (or tacos or pb&j's) with Him, how can I be ready for others to come in.
So, thank you for the reminder!
Blessings to your home from mine and let's keep the door unlocked, 'k?

It looks absolutely wonderful, and I LOVE the utensil trays that you used in those top 'holes'. You've got me seriously thinking now, where could I use similar trays in my house!
ReplyDeleteLaura your craft corner and desk turned out beautifully! I am dying to put together something similar - just waiting for the right "piece of junk" to come along! LOL!
