Favorite Find + Decorating Details

While we were visiting Kyle's family, I found the most perfect lamp at Goodwill. I bought it for the craft room, but it really belonged in the "dining room."

 Such a perfect fit!

*painting from a street vendor in Miami. pitchers are Fiestaware.

While I'm at it, why don't I show you a few more details from our home, specifically our living room.

*candle sticks from macys. candles from hobby lobby.

* the gum ball machine fishbowl was the first thing I ever won in a blog giveaway. tiny vintage pool balls from salvation army. giant "d" was left by my students in the trash (used to in conjunction with a fence to spell "d-fense" at football games).

*mason jars purchased from an antique store. francine rivers books hold the key to my heart.

*fan purchased from an antique store.

*lanterns from pottery barn (used at our wedding). two of my favorite poets, ee cummings and pablo neruda.

*vintage "d's" purchased from various etsy sellers. if you ever run across a sweet old "d" let me know... i'll send you $.

And our favorite living room accessory? Tiny Jupiter!

*shutters from an antique store. throw blanket from target. daring book for girls is amazing.

What are your favorite design details? I'd love to see if you've written a post about them!

  1. I really love your vintage "d"'s. Such a fun idea. My favorite design feature in a room are book shelves! My dream is to have a fireplace flanked by built-in bookshelves. One day...
