20 Weeks

We made it -- halfway there that is. Still feeling great, but things are getting a bit more uncomfortable lately and I'm not sleeping as well as I was. It's hard to get comfortable, and I keep having crazy dreams! Usually I don't remember my dreams, but it seems each morning I wake up from some seriously strange nighttime adventures.

Today we find out if Baby D is a little mister or miss. Hair bows or bow ties. Pink or blue, well really yellow either way. I'm not one for pink or blue. We have a feeling about the gender, but really we're just praying for a healthy, happy little one.

We traveled to Ohio this weekend for Kyle's brother's wedding and the time spent with family really made me reflect on how much this little baby is going to be loved. This baby's grandparents are just dying to meet their grand-baby and smother him or her with lots and lots of love. They are already thinking up the names they want to be called (although I've already assured them that this little one will call them whatever he or she pleases).

"Start children off on the way they should go, and even when they are old they will not turn from it." Proverbs 22:6

Kyle and I are truly the two luckiest people in the world. We have unbelievable parents who have shown time and time again that they would go to the ends of the earth to help us. They have taught us lessons that we will carry with us forever and will, in a few short months, share with our child as well.

We're halfway there little one! You're the length of a banana this week and growing bigger every day. And today we're finding out if you're a little girl or a little boy. It will be fun to know, although we only care that you're healthy and strong!

This weekend your daddy and I drove to Ohio to go to your uncle Todd and aunt Jenna's wedding. It was so beautiful. And everyone thought we looked pretty good too.

It was fun showing off my belly to our friends and family. And when the dancing and music began, you really started kicking! Guess what?? Your daddy felt you kick last night. Not a real big kick, but he definitely felt you moving around. His eyes got real big when he felt you. It's so exciting to know you're in there.

Baby D, I know I keep telling you how much you are loved, but you really are. And not just by daddy and me. You have four grandparents that are so excited to meet you. You will be their first grand-baby!

Grandma Peggy works at a school and she's starting a scrapbook for you. I can't wait to see it! Your grandpa Dave works in an office during the day, but every free minute he has he trains and races homing pigeons. He's pretty amazing at it and will let you hold the little birds when you're older.

Grandma Teri and Grandpa Bart build beautiful homes. You'll see when we visit. They even thought about you when they built their house. They wanted it to be perfect for grandkids to come visit!

Gosh they love you and will spoil you for sure. They have been the most amazing parents to your daddy and I. I hope that we can be even half as good as they are to us. If we are, I think you'll turn out just fine.
