I Kinda Wish I Was at Blissdom

If you're new to the bloggy world like me, the word Blissdom has probably started popping up in your blog reader lately. I never knew what incredible things (ideas, art, crafts, stories, recipes) were being shared on blogs all across the world until I started up my own. As I quickly learned (after Googling it for sure), Blissdom is a national conference that brings these talented individuals together to do just that...share.

From the website: Following Your Bliss means dreaming impossible dreams – and then making them possible through creativity, passion and direction.  Blissdom 2010 is your space to make this happen.  You’ll leave Blissdom:

* Inspired and empowered
* Brimming with new ideas, resources and connections
* Burning to improve your writing, creative content and products
* Ready to act strategically to meet your business goals
* And on the right path to realizing your vision of bliss

After reading post after post about Blissdom and hearing about all the great bloggy friends people meet, I was getting a bit jealous that I in fact was not in the car headed to Nashville. Edie at Life in Grace posted that her friend over at Blessed Moon was hosting a I'm-Not-At-Blissdom-Blog-Hop...I knew I had to join in!

So hello everyone! I'm Laura.

I have been blogging since October (although I had a few failed blog attempts back in college). I have loved being a part of the blog community and I have been really focused recently on how to improve the quality of my blog and increase my readership.

My husband and I got married last July, moved two days later, and I started my first big-girl job out of graduate school. I have a masters degree in College Student Personnel. I am a hall coordinator at a large state university and I absolutely love it. No idea what that means? Go here. Wikipedia can tell you. Basically my husband and I live in a residence hall (with our pretty kitty) while I run the place and make sure my 400 students don't burn it down. In more seriousness, however, I supervise 11 RAs and work to enhance the students academic experience.

Hopefully you're still reading after that one!

I love all things crafty and have tried really hard to make our residence hall apartment a home. My first love is making jewelry followed by stamping, painting, mod-podging, and recently (as in I learned Tuesday) sewing.

I'm also a big fan of Jesus and try to infuse my faith into all that I do.

I'm also a Pisces, a lover of books, and a wanna-be outdoorsy lady. I have a journalism degree, drink too much coffee, and until recently was afraid of cats (my husband and I both were...until we got Jupiter!).

Thanks for hopping by!
